Current Executives

Andrew Scherer: Risk Management Coordinator

Age: 21
Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Lone Jack, MO
Semester in STRIPES: 2nd

Why do you think students should join STRIPES?

I think students should join STRIPES because it’s one of the best experiences that you will have in college. You get to meet a lot of great people and make a lot of friends while also making the Mizzou community safer. The importance of STRIPES cannot be overstated and the organization does a lot of really important work. However, when you’re volunteering, it doesn’t feel like work because it’s such a fun time. It also provides great opportunities for leadership and makes your resume look great.

Jennifer Butler: Community Relations Coordinator

Age: 22
Major: Strategic Communications & English
Hometown: St. Louis, MO
Semester in STRIPES: 4th

If there was one thing you wanted students to know about STRIPES (a misconception, a fun fact, etc.), what would it be?

We don’t track your rides throughout the semester! That would be considered stalking. We also don’t give out personal information regarding rides to the university or anyone else. Our only goal is to get student home safely, so unless some part of your ride or information hinders our ability to take you home, we don’t question why you take STRIPES, where you’re going, or what time it is!

My favorite thing about STRIPES is being able to keep tigers safe while also having a great time! I’ve made some amazing friends through STRIPES and have had the opportunity to grow as a person and a leader while also spending time with some of my closest friends!

What are you excited for this year in STRIPES? What are you excited about for the position that you are in? What is one goal you want to accomplish this year (regarding your position or in general for STRIPES)?

I am excited to meet all the new members, and see all the returning in the spring! My one goal is to make STRIPES feel as welcoming and inclusive as I possibly can. My position allows me to get know a larger number of our members, so I hope to make all I come across feel important and cared for as I possibly can.

Griffen Leininger: Nightly Operations Manager

Age: 21
Major: Marketing
Hometown: Lamar, MO
Semester in STRIPES: 4th

Describe your favorite night of STRIPES that you have volunteered for so far and why it was your favorite?

Honestly I can’t choose a favorite night because I know every time I walk into the STRIPES house I know it’s going to be different from the last. Because there are so many members and everyone chooses when they work you never work with the same group of people. I love how STRIPES allows you to meet people from every aspect of Mizzou’s campus.

Ashley Meierhofer: Nightly Operations Manager

Age: 21
Major: Psychology
Hometown: Knob Noster, MO
Semester in STRIPES: 2nd

Why do you think students should join STRIPES?

I think students should join STRIPES because it is pretty fun. I’ve made more friends and I genuinely feel like I have made some sort of impact on the campus community. You pick the times you come in, so it’s not a huge time commitment like other orgs (as long as you make your night requirement).

Parker Owens: Nightly Operations Manager

Age: 21
Major: Marketing & Strategic Communications
Hometown: Noel, MO
Semester in STRIPES: 5th

Why did you apply for the exec board? What made you apply for the position that you are currently in?

I applied for the exec board to become a leader in the organization that had meant so much to me for the previous four semesters. After meeting dozens of new people each year and being able to talk with the then current and former executives, I knew that being able to lead in such an amazing organization would be one of the greatest honors I’ve ever received. I like the in-house environment and I enjoy being able to see how each part of STRIPES runs, so I applied to be a Nightly Operations Manager. I thought it was so cool how STRIPES actually operated behind the scenes and I wanted to be a part of that.

Jayme Gardner: STRIPES Advisor
